Privacy Policy

DF Garage ("the app") is operated by Driving Forever Limited ("we", "us"), a New Zealand company (renamed from Stearne Limited in April 2026). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

What we collect

• Account information: Email address and display name when you create an account.
• Vehicle data: Information you enter about your vehicles (make, model, year, odometer, service records, fuel logs, expenses, photos, etc). This is stored locally on your device by default.
• Published cards: If you choose to publish a vehicle card, the vehicle details and your display name are stored in our cloud database and visible to anyone with the link.
• Community & Collector activity: If you use the community features, records of Fist Bumps, Spotted cars, event check-ins and partner-venue visits are stored in our cloud database and shared only with the other member(s) involved in each exchange.
• Usage analytics: We record basic in-app events (such as publishing a card) tied to your account ID to understand how the app is used. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
• Photos: Receipt and vehicle photos are stored on your device. Photos included in published cards may be stored in our cloud database.

What we don't collect

• We don't collect or store your precise location. Venue check-in uses your device's location on-device only, to confirm you're at a partner venue — your coordinates are never sent to us or saved.
• We don't sell your data to third parties.
• We don't use your data for advertising.
• We don't access your contacts, camera roll, or other device data beyond what you explicitly share with the app.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide the app's features: tracking your vehicles, publishing cards you choose to share, and powering the community and Collector features you choose to use.

Data storage

Local vehicle data is stored on your device using the app's local storage. Published cards and community activity are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted in Google Cloud. Your account authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication.

Your rights

• Access: You can view all your data within the app at any time.
• Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated cloud data from the Settings screen, or email privacy@drivingforever.com to request deletion. Local data is removed when you uninstall the app.
• Portability: You can export your vehicle data as CSV from within the app.
• Unpublish: You can unpublish any vehicle card at any time, which removes it from our cloud database.

Third-party services

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, and hosting. Firebase privacy policy.
• RevenueCat: Manages DF Pro subscriptions. Receives your account ID and purchase/device information to validate entitlements. RevenueCat privacy policy.
• OpenAI: Text you submit to public surfaces (display name, bio, vehicle details) is checked by OpenAI's moderation API for safety. OpenAI privacy policy.

Children

DF Garage is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will change when we do.
